Seminar on Gandhi ji
The Peace club of St. Mary’s School, Sector 46-B organized a seminar in the school campus to mark the 64th Anniversary of the Martyrdom of the Father of the Indian Nation, Sh. Mahatma Gandhi .
Hon’ble Chairman, Revd. Father Biju P.Thomas inaugurated the show while propagating the teachings and principles of the great soul and tried to inculcate the spirit of patriotism to all the young generations of today’s genre.
Various talks were held among the students highlighting the birth, struggles and achievements of the great personality where the message of peace and non-violence was spread through their speeches.
Mrs. Malini Sharma and Mr. Satyawaan also took the lead of the event by extending their views also on the occasion.
At the end, Hon’ble Principal Mr. Saji Jacob also shared his views and appreciated the efforts of the students and urged all the students to take a vow to eliminate violence and hatred from the society.
Visit to Religious Places
Through peace club the school has been creating opportunities for the students to get involved in fund raising activities in support of institutions for physically challenged, orphans, the elderly and several other social causes. The visits to old age home with an aim at building a true human bond between the young and the old generation. It also promotes social change, problem solving in human relationships and the empowerment and liberation of people to enhance their independence and happiness. The school also undertakes blood donation camp every year in order to provide tens of thousands of pints of blood that are needed everyday to help people.Visit To “Missionaries of Charity ”
St. Mary’s School facilitated a visit for its students to an orphanage.The visit of the students of St. Mary’s School, was a step towards lighting up the lives of children living in the orphanage and giving them a feeling of family. The essence of the trip is a regular program conducted by the peace club of St. Mary’s school. The program is committed to making the students aware of their social responsibility. The students presented a musical performance and gifted stationery and clothes to build a rapport with the children and know them better.
